the Barclaycard Arrival Plus® World Elite Mastercard® made a start.
Barclays have announced that they will soon stop accepting new travel rewards card applications. A Barclays representative confirms that affiliate sites like NerdWallet are notified this week and that the issuer will stop accepting card and personal loan applications on its own website in the coming days.
The news follows the closure of Barclaycard Ring® Mastercard® to new applicants a few weeks earlier.
It is not known whether Barclays plans to phase out or replace the Arrival Plus entirely. The issuer has not determined the next steps for the product, the Barclays representative added.
Current cardholders can continue to use their cards as before and enjoy the following benefits:
Enjoy 70,000 bonus miles after spending $ 5,000 on purchases in the first 90 days.
Earn 2 miles per $ 1 on all purchases.
Book travel your way – no airline, seat or hotel restrictions – and redeem your miles for credits on your travel statement.
Get 5% miles back to use for your next redemption, every time you redeem.
No foreign transaction fees.
Annual fee of $ 89 (waived the first year).
In early 2018, Barclays suspended applications for Barclaycard Arrival Plus® World Elite Mastercard® temporarily, to make way for the launch of the Barclays Arrival® Premier World Elite Mastercard®. This Premier card itself was then closed to new applicants six months later, and the Barclaycard Arrival Plus® World Elite Mastercard® was available again.
