Montenegro and the Republic of Serbia enjoy excellent economic relations, on the basis of which they can strengthen their mutual cooperation in all areas of mutual interest, it was concluded at the meeting of the Prime Minister. Prime Minister Krivokapić expressed his gratitude to Mr. Dačić for the warm welcome. He underlined the importance of cooperation between the two parliaments in the field of European integration and, in this context, welcomed the recommendation of the European Commission to open two new clusters in the accession negotiations with Serbia .
Montenegro will continue to be a constructive partner in achieving the common goal of integration. From our point of view, the integration of the Western Balkan countries into the EU has no alternative, and we are convinced that strengthening the security and safety of the region is an essential precondition for the our continued progress in the integration process, said the Prime Minister.
The President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Ivica Dačić, thanked the Prime Minister for his visit to Belgrade and stressed that Serbia does not have a state closer than Montenegro, and that this fact should be transformed into a comparative advantage when it comes to interstate relations between Montenegro and Serbia.
The officials stressed the importance of the historical ties and the common European perspective of Montenegro and Serbia and expressed the belief that the relations between the two countries will serve as an example of good neighborly cooperation in the future.
